Our client, a well known charity organisation requires an Assistant Housekeeper with a proven track record to maintain the running of the accommodation including cooking for residents and the provision of housing related support, liaising with relevant agencies and managing the administrative duties and assist the housekeeper/house manager.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • To work with the housekeeper/house manager to deliver a daily meal service to all residents, including maintaining a balanced diet, menu planning and complying with hygiene, health and safety standards.
  • To provide emergency care and ongoing support to residents including liaising with other agencies and ensuring relevant referrals are made to meet assessed need.
  • To formulate and manage a Housing Support Plan for all residents in line with Care Commission Standards, Supporting People, Joint Futures Agenda and the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Code of Practice.
  • To help maintain the general upkeep of the accommodation and report any significant defects or problems to the Housekeeper/House Manager.
  • To report any repairs identified to the appropriate repair centre.
  • To maintain appropriate records relating to incidents, accidents, fire drills, fire tests, emergency repairs, visitors and related follow-up action.
  • Coordinate the incoming services to the accommodation through Plans and linking with any other relevant services as a result.
  • To provide full time cover during times of holidays, sickness, attendance at training/meetings of the Housekeeper/House Manager.
  • To keep up with training and certified qualifications as necessary for the role and to meet the Care Commission and SSSC.
  • To work with our clients Volunteers by supporting their initiatives, coordinating social functions and maintaining regular contact with the local committee of Volunteers
  • To ensure resident consultation and participation is kept at the heart of the accommodation and support service through involvement and coordination
  • To undertake any other duties that may from time to time be required as directed by management.
